Named after the ram-horned god Ammon, these fossils are over 450 million years old. The nautilus shape is one of nature's recurring patterngs. Before the advent of plastic, horn was regularly used in jewlery making. This material is black and takes a rich shine without looking like plastic. Cut as an irregular rectangle, it measures approximately 1 3/4" tall and 3/4" wide. A matte sterling Star of David, positioned slightly off-center dominates the ebony rectangle. This unusualy piece hangs from an 18" snake chain.
